Hello and welcome to another episode of Chasing Excellence. My name is Patrick Cummings

0:06.4

and as always I am here with Ben Bergeron every week on the show. We dedicate some time

0:11.5

to exploring how we can live a life of better health and increased fulfillment. We answer

0:16.8

your questions about the five actors of health that I have deep on living a life of excellence

0:21.4

and explore the strategies and frameworks to help us chase what truly matters. Thank you so much

0:26.9

for joining us again. How are you Ben? I'm doing great Patrick. Thank you. We've got a good

0:32.0

episode ahead. We're going to start as we always do with our warm-up which is when we answer your

0:38.3

questions about the five factors of health, those few fundamental behaviors that most positively

0:42.9

1:30.9

looking to optimize for other things. So kudos to the listener. Okay, so for an absolute beginner.

1:39.1

So I'm assuming that somebody that's never been to the gym, never worked with moving external loads.

1:46.6

She just says she's otherwise fit and healthy. So I'm guessing like done some yoga, maybe done some

1:52.0

5k, just a beginner. But never used a barbell, never done any sort of strength training. So

2:00.4

that's where I would start is I would buy or go to a gym and start

2:07.5

using an empty barbell. That's really what it is. In terms of like what do I mean by that?
