1:04.0 | I gained the weight when I was a varsity high school athlete tore up my knee and faced multi-year long recovery. |
1:11.0 | I've heard really bad things about CrossFit in that it injures athletes. |
1:15.0 | My question is CrossFit is the best platform for major weight loss and how can I avoid injury? |
1:21.0 | Well first off, congrats Sarah on your journey. That's an incredibly lofty aspiration. |
1:26.0 | 150 pounds is no joke. Go get it. Go do that thing. |
1:32.0 | I'm glad that you're asking what you think is the most efficacious and safest program to help you out. |
1:38.0 | I do think CrossFit is what I'm on a CrossFit gym. I do think it is the platform to help people achieve weight loss at any level. |
1:50.0 | But then the question is is it safe or am I going to injure along the way? |
1:56.0 | Here's my personal viewpoint on that. When we first opened up the gym, we were a really competitive gym. You know this, you are part of the gym back then. |
2:08.0 | And we had a lot of injuries. We did. We had shoulder injuries, knee injuries, and back injuries as the most common thing. |
2:16.0 | Over the last at least five years, if not a little bit longer, we've really shifted gears away from the competitive aspect. And we are here to help people like Sarah. |
