dietitian and I've had a variety of nutrition type jobs over the past 20 years, including

jobs that required me to put clients on weight loss diets, even liquid fast diets.

I know from research that 500 calorie weight loss diets will lead to a slower metabolism

and to binge eating.

And let's face it, you're pretty darn miserable on those.
