0:07.3	and a graphic novelist, and I spend a lot of time thinking about art.
0:11.4	So I want to tell you about this viral TikTok video I saw a few months ago
0:15.1	that I can't stop thinking about.
0:16.6	It's of a young woman looking at an oil painting at the National Gallery,
0:21.7	an art museum in London titled The Execution of Lady Jane Grey.
0:26.1	And it tells a story of the final moments of Lady Jane,
0:28.9	who was beheaded for treason at the age of 17.
0:32.5	In the painting, Lady Jane is blindfolded
0:34.7	and unsteadyly feeling her way toward the chopping block.
0:37.8	The TikToker films herself looking at the painting.
0:40.5	And you can see that she's clearly moved by this tragic scene.
0:45.8	This fascinates me.
0:47.1	This event happened more than 450 years ago.
0:49.8	It was captured in a painting made nearly 140 years ago,
0:53.2	and it's still clearly resonating today.
0:55.6	And I wanted to know, how does one go to a museum
0:58.2	and have such a profound connection to a piece of art?
1:01.8	If this TikToker could do it, I wanted to too.
