We're living in treacherous times.

Those of us who ascribe to Christian values find ourselves challenged every single day.

Critics have become more vocal, and even for mature believers, temptations have become

magnified.

Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall presents the final message in his teaching series

called Conquering Through Conflict.

In the last section of second Peter, the Apostle delivers practical warnings and counsel

that readily apply to life in 2023.

Repeatedly, Peter advised his friends to be on our guard.

Chuck titled this message, How to Live in Troubled Times.

This little section we're looking at is the last paragraph of his second and his final

statement, his final letter.

Let me read the verses for you.

Second Peter 3, 14 to 18.

Therefore beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by him in

peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation.

Just as also I beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you.

Now, this little reference to Paul tells us three very helpful things, first.

This tells me that Paul's letters had already begun to be distributed among the churches.

So Peter is writing after some of the letters of Paul have been written.

Second, and much more importantly, Paul's letters are regarded as scripture.

Just as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you.
