Welcome to week two of the Pray Like Jesus series. It's a short five-week series, free copy of the book for all of you. I would encourage you to read. I'm going to cover as much as I can.

I have way more content than will fit in a sermon. And I'll cover the rest, whatever I can't

hit for Real Men on Wednesday night. Last week week we looked at God's father and really the big idea for prayer is this. It's less about focusing on prayer and it's more about getting to know God his father and if you know that he loves you, you're more likely to have a conversation with him which is really what prayer is all about. Today we're going to look

at Jesus' prayer life. Everything Jesus did while on the earth was perfect. What does the perfect

prayer life look like? And Jesus needed to pray, we needed to pray. And if Jesus had to listen to the

father, we need to be listening to the father, especially in the complicated times that we

find ourselves in. And I was thinking about it, when kids are little, they need to learn how to

communicate. How many of you are parents or grandparents? Kids come to the world, they don't know

anything and they don't know how to do anything. They need to learn everything. And one of the first

things that we teach our kids is how to communicate, which includes speaking and

listening. Sometimes you tell your kids, hey, you need to be quiet now, you need to listen. These are

both crucial for the relationship. The kid needs to learn when to speak and when to listen. And the

same is true, not just when we are physically born, but when we're spiritually born again. And prayer is how we have a

conversation with God as Father. It includes talking to him and listening to him. And so what we're
