Summary

Have you ever wondered if you’re hearing God or just listening for what you want to hear? Me too, friend! This is why I’m re-airing an episode  I had earlier this year with Pete Greig as he talks with me about how to hear God, which I believe to be one of the most important topics we’ve ever covered on the show. (Hence the re-air because it never hurts to hear important information more than once, am I right?!) Pete and I discuss why hearing God speak to us is so challenging for some. And we also talk about how to identify what’s actually the voice of God and ways to sort through delusion and deception. We are covering so much ground in this episode! Pete has committed his life to help people hear the voice of God and facilitating the supernatural outpouring of His word and truth throughout the world. In addition to being a best-selling author, Greig is one of the founding champions of the earth-rattling 24-7 Prayer Movement and Senior Pastor of Emmaus Road Church in the south of England. Listen in to hear all about: Why we are comfortable talking to God but not so much talking with God. Differentiating between when God is speaking to us and what isn’t actually God at all. How to determine the difference between God’s word and God’s whisper (and why it matters!).  Favorite quotes: ~ How do ordinary, normal people, grow in the most important thing we’ll ever do, which is walking and talking with God? ~ Ask yourself : a) Is this affirming? b) Is it Biblical? c) Is it Christlike? If the answer is yes, this is affirming, biblical, and Christlike, then it will be good even if it isn’t God. ~ We need to hear God in community. We often need to discern God's will with other people, not just our own thoughts. In this episode I answered this question: I feel uncomfortable building a platform. How can I do it in a healthy way?
