What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening Podcast. This is Kevin and today we are back with the Verdant North and we're talking about how to have blooms all season long.

So for those of you who are living in areas where you have more of a classic four season climate

You might wonder if it's even possible can you actually have

Flowers edibles or fundamentals that are blooming into the fall, into the winter and early spring,

is that even possible?

Well, the answer is in all but the most extreme climates, yes, that is possible, and

that's what we're talking about on today's show.

So without further ado, let's go ahead and get into it.

What about, and this is something I don't really know that much about because

my seasons are different than you guys?

So you have more classic seasons.

So what about having blooms all season long?

And I'm guessing what we mean here is ornamental blooms, right?

Okay, yeah. So, for sure, we can talk about how to have blooms all season.

In our zones, we do have a few things that we rely on for early blooms and a few things we rely on for

late blooms but I'll also talk about a couple things you can do in California to

extend your bloom season so around here early bloomers for us are things like tulips, daffodils, lilacs, dandelions,

lilacs, dandelions, those are all things that bloom pretty early in our spring season.

So one thing I wanted to note about Tulips for everybody is that Tulips at this point are treated like

annuals. You need to buy new bulbs every year in order to have the beautiful blooms on the package next year.
