killers instead of one long five hour podcast. podcast.

You know how to pick this up into several sections and talk about meeting

killers and specifically what to do about them.

But before we get into the first one, we're talking about the jokes for today, why don't you give us some background as to why you thought this important?

What was the genesis of this cast?

Yeah, you made the joke already about five hours, and I I know the joke is directed to me I can be long-winded so I'll try to be brief that was a recent look there was a reason yeah

Hey, I did it to myself. There was a recent Wall Street Journal article. Now if you're

listening to this, the article was 15 May 2012 called Meet the Meeting

Killers and it was basically a management-based article about people doing stupid things in meetings and there were

various interviews with people about how to address that meeting killer

behavior and the article ended up being good, and I generally disagree with most guidance you can read in popular press because some journalists who, I shouldn't say this, but is not a manager, just interview somebody who says they're an expert and the guidance they

give is dumb in my opinion but this one actually ended with some really really good guidance

all of which we've already said before in our effective meetings cast but what they did was they made it about

people in the meeting things people do thematic things and so there's the

jokester which by the way folks I'm so sorry with that name all we're doing

there is copying the name that came out of the journal they had the

dominator the naysayer the silent plotter the ramler which I'm sure you all

have experience as well and and this we're going to do the first one we're going to go in order the way they introduce them in the article.
