Peas are one of the

peas are one of the first crops you would plant in spring, but sometimes you can even get them in fall. So if you are in a climate where you can get peas in fall, let's talk a little bit about how to grow them.

You have a couple different kinds of peas, a few. English peas, those are shelling peas.

The pods are not edible, and the peas are. So you would harvest the large

edible pea seed. Next you have snow peas. Those produce edible flat pods and the

pea seeds inside are quite flat and small as well.

These have tender edible pods but the peas themselves inside are full size in contrast to the snow peas where they're a little bit more flat.

So peas are interesting. They are legumes they will fix nitrogen in the soil but they do need a little extra fertility at the start of their lives in order to get that process off the ground.
