I can already hear you saying, “Yeah, that’d be nice, if they existed…” Well, they do, and they’re called microgreens. Practically any plant can be grown as a microgreens, which is just the even-younger cousin of baby greens. Typically harvested around 8-20 days after planting, microgreens are the quickest turnaround crop you’ll ever grow in your garden. Today, we’ll be growing lettuce or salad mix microgreens, which I consider one of the most basic types of microgreens you can grow, making them perfect for a beginner. 0:04.9	about lettuce micro-greens. So I know I've talked about micro-greens quite a bit
0:08.7	here on the show as well as the YouTube channel, as well as the website. I just love greens what can I say I used to grow
0:14.7	them commercially and they just hold a bit of a soft spot in my gardening
0:19.2	heart and that's probably because you know the mission of epic gardening is to teach 10 million people plus how to grow anything no matter where they live in the world.
0:27.6	And some things just simply don't grow in certain regions. We know that. We've talked a lot about hardiness
0:34.6	zones and climates and all that stuff. And so what is one thing that does grow no matter where
0:39.8	you live? That would be a micro-green. So practically any vegetable can be grown as
0:45.3	micro-greens, although it doesn't necessarily mean that every vegetable should
0:49.0	be grown as micro-greens. There are certainly things that you wouldn't want to grow.
0:53.8	Lettice or a spicy salad mix, however, is not one of them. You should definitely
0:59.6	consider growing these as a micro-green. You can either buy straight up lettuce packets,
1:05.9	which is a little bit pricey if you ask me, or you can hit up a microgreen specific producer. I think I used to get all my seats

1:21.2	Google search for them if you're interested.
