Today though, we're going to discuss one of my favorite crops of all time and that would be cabbage.

It is an old school crop. It's easy to grow for the most part.

You guys know who has been having trouble with

cabbage and that has been me traditionally because cabbage moths are one of our

biggest pests down here in San Diego but all in all it is a pretty easy plant to grow so let's discuss it.

First of all cabbage was domesticated in its current form in Germany. There are still

wild cabbage plants in Western Europe.

Brassica Olorassier Var Capitata is a close relative of other Brassica such as kale, broccoli,

cauliflower, and more they are all the exact same species, but they are different

cultivars, which is a really interesting thing because they look so, so different.

Your main cabbage varieties are going to be organized by their time to maturity.

You've got early maturing green cabbage varieties.

Those are 60 to 80 days.

You have your mid-season, 80 to 90 days, and then your late varieties 90 to 110 days.

Depending on your region, you can grow one and or multiple forms for a consistent harvest.

Remember, there's one way to successions, though,
