0:45.0	This is one of the great songs that David wrote. The whole song is filled with powerful, powerful lyrics.
0:53.0	Let's focus in now on this back up to verse 28 for you will light my lamp, the Lord, my God will enlighten my darkness.
1:06.0	For by you I can run through a troop. If I say by him, now say I can. Say by him, I can. Say it again.
1:21.0	By him. Say I'm really facing some overwhelming odds. By him, I can.
1:28.0	Run through a troop. And that's where we stop. We just try to get through stuff.

1:48.0	That's what I want to preach on. Now while you're in your Bible, I want you to go over to flip over to second Samuel chapter 22.
2:03.0	Because this is not the first time this text is found in the Bible.
2:10.0	In verse in chapter 22, we're given the context through which the song was birthed.
2:20.0	We know that David wrote 73 of the songs at least. We know the book of songs. He wrote 73 of those songs. Moses wrote many of them.
2:30.0	And there are others that are listed that are credited with the writings of the songs. But this certainly was one of the songs that David wrote.
2:43.0	And what is powerful about it is the backdrop, the background, the setting of it.
2:53.0	Verse chapter 22 of second Samuel and verse 1, then David spoke to the Lord, the words of this song on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all of his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
3:11.0	And I don't have time to read the whole thing, but we'll go over to verse 30. Here's part of the song that he wrote on that day.
