Hi, I'm KAM Wylind, and you are listening to the 350th episode of the Helping Writers Become Authors Podcast. There's something really really special about that moment in

brainstorming and outlining a new story when the whole thing just kind of gels.

And I finally get a handle on the big picture of the overall plot and themes, and he just

know that it's all going to work.

Well, I reached that exciting moment a few weeks ago in

outlining my portal fantasy sequel Dreambreaker. Only took me a couple notebooks of

what ifing to get there. That's a self ironic jabic jab by the way. It hardly ever takes me that long, but this story was a little different both because it's the middle book in an unplanned trilogy,

and because it's a, for me, very new idea, only having sprung to life last summer.

But at any rate, this seemed like a good juncture to pause and transcribe my pertinent notes thus far.

I use Dragon, naturally speaking, dictation software to

dictate my notes straight in Discrevener. Lots and lots of folders and sub-folders

for this book already. I still got a few general loose ends. and then I should be able to move on to

to figure out and then I should be able to move on to character

sketches soon.
