Summary

What's going on Wealth Builders?! Today I've got my cohosts Blake and Justin with me, and I want to get everyone's perspective on how they do time management and work-life balance. I've talked a lot about it from my perspective as an entrepreneur, but these guys, Justin in particular, work for me. I'm curious as to what I'm saying actually translates to my employees. Blake, on the other hand, has worked in corporate America and in other things, so I want to get all three philosophies, struggles, and successes on how to balance work life. All of us have kids, all of us have wives, and I think we all manage our time in very different ways. Listen in to hear all about it!

Justin, Blake, and I talk about our unique situations with work and home life, and how we navigate being present! We talk about how remote work, social media, and crypto don't "turn off" at the end of the day, so individuals aren't able to escape work like they used to. This is also magnified with cell phones, and we all struggle with being able to get off our phones each night at home.

Do you struggle with time management? Comment your time management skills!

What's going on, wealth builders? Today I've got my co-host Blake and Justin with me and I want to get everyone's perspective on how they do time management and work life balance because for me I've talked a lot about it from my perspective as an entrepreneur but these guys Justin particular works for me and I'm curious of what I'm saying actually translates to my employees and then Blake on the other hand has worked in corporate America and other things and you know I want to get all three

0:30.0

philosophy struggles you know successes on how they balance family and work life because all of us have kids all of us have wives and I think we all do it in very different ways so Blake what up?

0:45.0

What's up brother? Yeah man, worth life balance that's such a that's such a hot topic and it right now with with all industries but for me like before I can even go into what my life looks like now I've got to share like

0:59.4

where I came from so we came from my early baseball there is no work life balance no such no such thing and so you know I got used to that but there's this scale of passion to balance that that met all of the things on the side of passion right and then you know I lived on a sailboat for a year

1:17.4

that was a little different man it's like you know the balance was unnecessary all I was playing music in like local venues and living on a sailboat yeah being a happy yeah focus on my health and and just wellness and I think that's awesome to and so now

1:34.4

you know a family brought me into that headspace of how can I be present with my family and also make a dent and providing for them and a wealthy future for them and all that so

1:49.4

and accomplishing your goals I mean you got you get goals and other things too it's not just about your health but you financial goals exactly and so it's this is this juggling act as we all know right now for me I have a remote position where I'm you know managing a sales team

2:03.4

and it's it's got a lot of balance in the sense that I can go give my kids a hug in the middle of the day but at the same time at 11 p.m. I'm still getting hit with you know messages and I think now in this culture of remote work we're dealing with a lot of new problems that we've never

2:23.4

had to do with before yeah and a lot of what we sell is like collaboration technology that lets people talk to each other at all hours 24 7 24 7 and interesting idea though Japan put a mandate on their

2:36.4

companies to shut down email after 5 p.m. That's all of Japan yeah I think so like we so that fact fact check me I need to be fact checked at all times

2:47.4

yeah but I heard rumblings that in Japan the previous company I worked with was a Japanese company and that over there they were because of like mental health issues increasing suicide

2:59.4

rates and all of that I think Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world yeah what I remember I think you're right going back to that

3:06.4

whole like they have an entire forest dedicated to yeah people that go and do that shout out to Logan Paul and that controversy yeah hold

3:15.4

Logan Paul yeah not bad look but anyways yeah the work life balance has been addressed and then has come unraveled again with remote work so now I'm

3:27.4

always just working to get back to being present mentally yeah I think remote is definitely changing this because you know a lot like I would say half our work

3:37.4

forces remote and it's great because the reason I love remote is one I need less office space and then we needed before right to you can get talent from all

3:48.4

over the world being remote versus being only hey I can only have a local guy here I can go get the best of the best people

3:55.4

and three a lot of workers are more happy they want to be remote that's that's what they prefer to do and so as long as somebody does their job

4:03.4

I don't mind it if the remote as long as like their job can be done remotely right so yeah I think remote is creating what you said new problems where people are now having a

4:16.4

tough time separating work and home and I know for me personally I had this struggle during covid because I hate working from home I can't do it yeah my kids are too loud my dogs are too loud

4:29.4

you know I just don't want to do it it actually annoys Mindy because I'm literally on the phone nonstop doing zooms doing content like I can't even film content at home it's too

4:41.4

loud so it's just not good for me to work from home period but during covid we did it Mindy and I were always like man at first it was cool she's like this is so great
