I have three ideas for you, for us, to motivate ourselves and to move forward with hopefully

0:06.9

a little bit more confidence than what we're coming with. Hi, hello, welcome to Mary's Cup of Tea,

0:12.9

the self-love podcast for women. Though all self-lovers are welcome here. I'm Mary. I write and speak

0:19.4

about self-love and am best known for my book,

0:22.6

The Gift of Self-Love, and I also host retreats for women. And this is the podcast that will

0:28.2

inspire you to love yourself. Real quick, before we dive in, I want to make sure you know about my

0:33.6

book, The Gift of Self-Love. It's a workbook to help you build confidence, recognize your

0:38.4

worth, and learn to love who you are. It's available anywhere books are sold. Thousands of people

0:43.5

have it, love it, and have told me that it has greatly benefited their self-love journey,

0:50.2

and I hope it'll do the same for you. And now let's get into the podcast. I don't want to bore you

0:57.6

with the details of how and why I'm struggling with motivation right now, but it's the usual

1:02.4

feeling lost, not knowing what direction I'm headed, thinking about taking a different turn,

1:07.9

but wondering if that will make me regret it because I've given up everything

1:12.4

I've worked hard for and wouldn't that be stupid? But then everything I worked hard for doesn't

1:16.7

seem like it's enough and I'm maybe not working hard enough and comparing myself to the person

1:21.4

who looks like they're doing 10 times better than me and making more money and why can't I be

1:26.2

that way and be that dedicated? And why does

1:29.0

everything feel so hard? Well, of course, it's because the mental loop and that thought

1:35.6

process is exhausting. It actually takes real energy and calories to beat yourself up that way.

1:43.0

So that leads to feeling tired and exhausted,

1:46.3

fatigued, and thus demotivated. It sounds so silly too because I have so much to be grateful for

1:52.8

and I'm trying so hard to be positive. And usually that comes rather naturally for me.
