The The There is a magical moment that happens to all of us every single day. It is the moment you first wake up before you even open your eyes or step out of bed.

In that tiny window of time between sleep and waking, you may not always know where you are.

You may have temporarily forgotten your life's circumstances or the story you tell about yourself.

So it is in this little moment that we get to

choose, who do I want to be today? How do I want to show up today? But all too often, that

magical moment is missed as we scramble to silence our alarms or hop out of bed or get awoken earlier

than we'd like by our pets or kids or both. But sometimes just remembering that that moment

exists and making the intention to use it to our full advantage before we go to bed at night can help us to slow down

just enough to say to ourselves upon waking, who do I want to be today? How do I want to show up today?

I love asking these questions because it sets my day in motion in a way that is intentional,

not accidental. And when you can be intentional about how your day goes,

you can begin to gently shift your future into what you'd like to see too. For example,

I have been very focused this year on showing up as the healthiest, most aligned

version of myself.

And for me to do that, I have to make a few choices when that alarm goes off.

I decide in that moment how I want to start my day.

If I get out of bed, I usually choose to do a walk around my neighborhood while the sun is rising,

where I do a moving meditation.

If the weather is not great, I may instead opt to do a gentle morning yoga practice,

or even some strength training.

Or, when that alarm goes off, I make another choice.
