Hey there, it's Chase. Welcome to today's micro show. I was thinking a while back about

0:09.4

a predicament I was. And I had grown my business at the time to somewhere around, let's say, 25,

0:15.4

25 in change million in annual revenue. And the business was still growing at 40% year over year. So you do the math.

0:23.6

So these are the metrics. And I'll never forget, an investor looked me straight in the face.

0:29.6

With a head tilt and a shoulder shrug, he said that the business growth that I was killing

0:34.9

myself for, quote, just wasn't that interesting.

0:39.8

And I'm like, 25 million growing 40% year every year, not interesting. Wait, W-T-A-F. I swear, I swear

1:54.4

means. And hell, on any given day of my life, up until the conversation that I had on that afternoon, success might have been

2:04.6

as random as whatever way the wind was blowing. And yet, from that day on, I made a commitment to

2:12.1

myself. I committed to never leaving the fate of my most important dreams and projects and goals. I committed to

2:22.1

never leave those dreams open to the criticisms and the opinions of those who weren't in the

2:30.1

arena with me. Now, if you're not familiar with what I mean around in the arena, look up

2:36.3

Brune Brown in the arena quote. It's a quote from theater. Roosevelt. It's really,

2:42.4

really interesting. But I want to get distracted because I want to stay on topic. And the topic is

2:47.3

we got to go out with the idea of the gold watch and the Ferrari as success status
