We are picking up with a new devotion on the Bible app title.

Can I really overcome sin and temptation?

I'm going to read the scripture and Torch is going to pick up with the divot.

Let's do it.

The scripture is Luke chapter 4 verse 13 and it says this,

When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.

The devotional is titled, can I really overcome sin and temptation?

And it says this.

In 1 Samuel 13, 14, the prophet Samuel tells Saul, the king of Israel, that he's being

replaced because the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and the Lord has

commanded him to be prince over his people.

However, decades later, that quote, man after his own heart had an affair with a married

woman resulting in a pregnancy and successfully plots to kill her husband so that he can

take the woman as his wife.

In this one event, King David wrote nine of the ten commandments.

The tenth, he coveted his neighbor's wife.

The ninth, he lied about his sin.
