What we recommend doing is printing out a list

or writing down a list of non-negotiables

for each person really.

Like mainly you and your husband

because that's your spouse,

that's the main people that are in there

but your children matter to you.

So write down your non-negotiables

and put them in order.

This is my top number one.

This is what I want in this house down to.

This is the thing I like,

but it doesn't have to be.

And then as you're figuring out your budget

and you're allotting it towards those different items,

do your best to treat it equally.

So, you know, Daniel gets something, I get something.

And then as you work down, it's staying equal.

So Daniel's not giving his top five things

and then I only got one thing.
