About Dr. Kris

Dr. Kristen Lee, Ed.D., LICSW, known as “Dr. Kris”, is an internationally recognized, award-winning behavioral science professor, clinician, researcher, author, activist, and comedian from Boston, Massachusetts. Her new book Worth the Risk one of The Next Big Idea Club’s Season 18 Nominees! As the Lead Faculty for Behavioral Science and Faculty-in-Residence at Northeastern University, Dr. Kris’s research and teaching interests include individual and organizational well-being and resilience, particularly for marginalized and underserved populations. 

She operates a consulting practice devoted to preventing and treating burnout and is the author of RESET: Make the Most of Your Stress, Winner of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Motivational Book of 2015, and best-selling Mentalligence: A New Psychology of Thinking: Learn What it Takes to Be More Agile, Mindful and Connected in Today’s World.

She is a regular contributor for Thrive Global and Rethink Your Way to the Good Life on Psychology Today. She is the host of Crackin’ Up: Where Therapy Meets Comedy Dr. Kris’s work has been featured on NPR, Ted, Fast Company, and CBS radio. How's it going, everybody? Welcome to the Positive Mindset Podcast, we're work together to raise our

vibration, lift our perspective, and build a positive mindset. My name is Henry, and in this

episode, I have a special guest where we're going to talk about how to get your mind in a positive

perspective so that you can move forward. If you are stuck in fear, doubt, depression, whatever it is that is holding you back.

And in this episode, we're going to dive in to the way that you can change your perspective

so that you can start moving forward a little bit at a time and create the life that you want.

But before we get started, we'll take a few moments to slow down, zero in.

We're going to take some deep healing, meditative breaths to

help us align on the frequency that we want in our lives. So you can pick a word. It can be love,

joy, happiness, abundance, whatever frequency you want. And as we take a deep breath in,

you're going to say that word over and over and over again, really charge yourself with that energy and then as you're holding your breath visualize yourself doing something in that

frequency and then once you exhale anything that no longer resonates with you will leave you

and you'll be in a more positive state so let's go ahead and take a deep breath in and and out.

Well, we're going to do another deep breath.

This one is about alignment, about getting yourself in receiving mode so that you can receive the message that you need to uplift your perspective, to get you in that positive energy so that way you can create the experience that you want for yourself.

So imagine that you were surrounded by the most healing, uplifting energy that's meant specifically for you.

It could have a certain color, a certain taste,

a certain smell, however you imagine it. And when you breathe it in, it's going to break down

the negative blocks, the barriers, the weight, everything that has just been holding you back.

And then as you exhale, then take all of that with it, leaving you in a more positive state.

So let's go ahead and take a deep breath in.
