I have a theory that everyone has a superpower.

They might just not know it yet.

I learned mine right out of college.

I was living in Edinburgh for the first time and swung by a tea shop,

run by a nice Moroccan guy named Zach.

Chatted with him for a bit, drank some tea, read a book.

I came back a few days later, ordered some tea, said hello.

And then another Arabic guy ran in and shouted something in Arabic, something very important.

Zach looked at that man with the alarm, ran to the door, then turned around and faced me.

Andrew, you are in charge. And then he bolted.

And for the next hour or so,

I ran a Moroccan tea shop,

best I could, with no knowledge of how to do so,

training or prior warning. My superpower, I discovered,

is that I can make myself a regular anywhere in about 15 minutes. Now, I don't always do it because

it can be exhausting, but if I want to, I can install myself as a familiar and amiable character into any environment in about a quarter of an hour.

Not the best superpower I grant you.

It would be better if I could heal people by touch or fly.

That'd be pretty cool if I could fly.

But I'll take it.
