I would love to respond and begin an interaction with you. We are starting into the next section

of Acts chapter 5 where we're actually continuing the story. Yesterday's passage told us about

an event where the apostles and those with them were preaching the good news of Jesus

and they were actually taken by the high priests guards and thrown into jail. But an angel

of the Lord delivered them, broke them out and told them to go back to the temple and

begin preaching again, which they did. The high priests guards were just baffled that

they were out of the prison and that the prison was still locked. The guards were still

guarding and yet here were the people outside so they arrested them a second time. And

so when they did that, verse 27 is where we're picking up. It says when they had brought

them, they set them before the council and the high priest questioned them saying, we

strictly charged you not to teach in this name. Yet here you have filled Jerusalem with

your teaching and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Now stop and let's remind

ourselves this man's blood is a reference to Jesus crucifixion. They're saying you intend

to make us guilty of his crucifixion, which is kind of an interesting statement for them to say

because they were guilty of Jesus crucifixion. They had conspired with the Romans to have Jesus

...
