Good morning everyone and welcome back to another morning with the masters where we devote

ourselves to the Lord daily with you. Good morning you guys. Good morning indeed we are

back picking up with day six of our live no lies devotional in the Bible app. There's a link to

that in the description of the podcast if you guys want to follow along with us and as always I'm

going to read the scripture then Tori is going to pick up with the divo. Let's do it. Also just

as it heads up the the devotional is kind of hard to read so Tori is actually going to paraphrase

it in a way that's easier to hear on the podcast. The scripture is 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 16

and it says this for who can know the Lord's thoughts who knows enough to teach him but we

understand these things for we had the mind of Christ. The devotional is titled talking back

late in the fourth century AD a young intellectual penned a short book called Talking Back

a monistic handbook for combating demons best subtitle ever. He claims that the fight against

demonic temptation is a fight against thought patterns internal narratives and the internal

belief structures and these aren't just thoughts they're thoughts with a malicious will behind

a dark animating force of evil that might sound far fetched to our skeptical western

ears but think about it have you ever had a thought or feeling or desire that seemed to have a

will to it yes it seemed to have a weight or power over you that was beyond your ability to resist

could it be that the lies that assault your mind's peace aren't just thoughts could it be that

a dark spiritual force is behind them as the writer Paul put it in Romans 8 6 the mind governed by

the flesh is death but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace well if we give in the

thoughts that war with life and peace becomes strongholds in our minds and hold us in captivity

but we can break free if we set our minds on scripture you fight the devil's lies by simply choosing

to not think about them but as we all know you can't think about nothing so you give your mind
