| 0:00.0 | If you actually want to win your fantasy playoffs, you have to start thinking strategically. |
| 0:04.4 | Because you're no longer just trying to win one week. You're trying to win the next two to three |
| 0:09.0 | to potentially four weeks down the road. So because of that, we're going to break down the four |
| 0:13.1 | strategies that I use in all my fantasy leagues to actually win and move forward in the postseason. |
| 0:17.9 | And we're going to start with number one right now. Number one, you need to handcuff and pick up elite backup running backs now this one should be rather obvious but a lot of |
| 0:25.9 | people just keep backup tight ends and backup quarterbacks and who knows wide receivers that are dusty |
| 0:30.5 | on their bench when they give you no upside instead you have to make sure that the running backs |
| 0:34.1 | I'm about to show you starting with Emmanuel Wilson of the Packers are not available your league. All these running backs are currently available in at least 55% of fantasy leagues, so that is the far majority of them. Emmanuel Wilson is a great example of this because we've already seen Josh Jacobs banged up by multiple different injuries this year. He is an older running back, or at least he's getting towards an older age in terms of a big workload last year |
| 0:54.3 | and now this year and Emmanuel Wilson the one time we got to see him fill in for Josh Jacobs |
| 0:58.1 | 107 yards rushing had multiple touchdowns in that game against the Vikings we got to see him fill |
| 1:02.9 | in the week before that game against Minnesota when Jacobs went down and have a two-point conversion |
| 1:06.9 | have a touchdown as well so the Packers show that they have a lot of trust in. The big thing that kind of separates these backup elite handcuffs and running backs you want to pick up is that there's no real competition behind them. So when Josh Jacobs went down, sure, Christopher Brooks is somebody for the Packers who has seen snaps this year, but they gave all of that workload to Emmanuel Wilson. Now, another player who kind of fits this criteria in terms of having a |
| 1:28.3 | massive workload this year is Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey, knock on wood, as of right |
| 1:32.8 | now, has played in all 13 games for the 49ers. He's seeing an elite 84% snapshot, 81% of his |
| 1:39.5 | backfield opportunities. You scroll over here and you know how good this guy's workload is. |
| 1:43.5 | 18.2 carries per game, 8.2 targets per game. So despite coming into the year with like another calf's scare after having the strain last year that kept them out with the Achilles, the dude is seeing over 26 opportunities per game. We're late in the season now. Colder weather, big workload. If something was to happen to McAfra, we hope it doesn't. Well, then from everything we've seen this year, Brian Robinson would probably come in and be the workhorse back. We haven't seen Isaac Herendo at all since they signed Robinson right before the season started. Brian Robinson has shown in past years as recent as just last year alone when he was on the commander starting the season off before his injury. First five weeks the season he was a top 12 fantasy running back showed efficiency showed the ability to break tackles and if you remember past running backs on the 49ers who filled in when christian mcalfrey got hurt jordan mason to start last year when mcalfrey was out before jordan mason's shoulder injury was a top ten fantasy running back and top three and all running back usage metrics if you go all the way back to when McCaffrey back in the 2020 and 2021 season was on the Panthers, you had guys like Mike Davis being top 12 running backs. Chuba Hubbard as like a rookie was a flex option on weeks when McAfrey was banged up. So all of this to say is if something was to happen to Christian McCaffrey, of course Brian Robinson, who is somehow available right now in 55% of fantasy leagues would become somebody who wants to have rostered. You're starting to get the gist of this. These are the guys that I would consider tier one handcuffs. I would put them in any order you want. It's going to start with Emmanuel Wilson, Brian Robinson, and then get into these next three backs that I would say out of all the guys and the waiver wires, these five are the tier one guys to pick up. The next guy would be Tyler Algier. |
| 3:10.5 | He has been a proven running back, not only this season where he's been scoring like five touchdowns over his last six games, but we've seen it in past years. His rookie year, he was a workhorse back before Bejohn got there. Bejohn is obviously highly involved in this offense, both on the ground and as a receiver. He's been a great running back, but let's be honest, right? If something was to |
| 3:27.4 | happen to beijon Robinson, do we think Carlos Washington, who's currently on the practice squad, the only other running back who would really see snaps in this offense would be my guess? Do we really think he's going to see significant workload away from Tyler Al Jir? Of course not. No, let's not forget now that Bijon Robinson is playing top five Snapshare this year, 79%. I think that could easily go to Tyler Algear if Bajon was to miss time. Al Jazeer in his rookie season, if you remember when he finally got to be the workhorse back, the last time he was a workhorse back for the Falcons. He averaged coming out of the byweek, 23 fantasy points, 15, 16, and 14. He was a top eight running back the last time we actually got to see him be a workhorse before Bejohn Robinson landed in Atlanta. Long time ago, different coaches, we got all that, but he still survived, still been talented. And the next player that I would put in that tier one, potentially all the way towards the top after his last couple of weeks, is Blake Quorum of the Rams. We've seen back-to-back nice performances, 81 rushing yards and a touchdown. This past week, 128 rushing yards, some garbage time in there, but he was highly involved throughout, multiple touchdowns, had 12 carries compared to 13 for Kyram Williams. Blake Corum was outtouching Kyram Williams in both the first and third quarter of that game when it was somewhat closer early on. |
| 4:31.2 | Blake Corum is a guy that they want to have involved. |
| 4:32.9 | They want to keep Kyron Williams fresh for the postseason, which means for fantasy purposes, Blake Corum is going to get more usage. And if something was to happen to Kyron, who had a foot scare last week, well, then we know Blake Corum can come in and just see a work course role because he is literally the only the other running back in the Rams backfield that is currently getting run jarch has hunter to start the |
| 4:49.1 | season a rookie that they drafted was getting some hype and basically a work-course role because he is literally the only other running back in the Rams backfield that is currently getting run. |
| 4:48.0 | Jarkas Hunter to start the season, a rookie that they drafted was getting some hype and basically |
