Why do they call you crispy?

So back in 2007, I got blown up in Iraq.

And I sustained 75% burns to the body, 34th degree burns.

And then I ended up having my right foot amputated below the knee.

And it was kind of interesting.

And I had a buddy of mine.

And so let me back up a little bit.

I get wounded, I go to the hospital, I recover, wake up.

And then the military, we have what it's called a welcome back ceremony.

Everybody from the deployment that's coming back.

We have this big ball.

Everybody goes Chanuk.

Everybody from Chanuk command shows up.

And it was for me, it was a bigger union.

I was able to come back to Germany to meet my guys that I had served with.

And you know, catch up.

You know, it was pretty hard hit with IEDs and stuff like that.

We lost about 37 people.

And I mean, almost like 75% of the whole company,
