The This is hell.

I hate to valorize any politician and especially not Governor J.B. Pritzker, but I really did enjoy him yesterday

calling the Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino a snowflake. Yeah, that was good stuff. I really

like that. Allowing the left and abolitionists to reembrace the term that they created

for the people who were pro-slavery and were white supremacists and enjoyed white privilege back in the mid-19th century.

And the term was used by abolitionists of those who were pro-slavery because any time their privilege was challenged, they would weep and cry and melt like a snowflake.

It's a term that's been co-opted by the right in here in the United States, and it's great

just to see even a centrist liberal try to retake it.

Your eyewitness to grief, this is hell, and following the grief we discussed earlier this week

of how the prison industry

dehumanizes the poor, the grief we will be talking about today is the unfair income tax

code and its massive contribution to inequality in the bottom lines of the wealthy.

The wealthy, in fact, spend a lot of time, energy, and, yes, money

on not paying taxes and hiding how little they do pay in taxes from the rest of us. They use

up plenty of resources so you don't know how they spend their resources on lives of opulence you cannot ever imagine.

The glimpses we get of balls at Marilago are likely only a tacky tip of the iceberg

where this new aristocracy built on new types of investments are precariously perched.

They spin tales about paying the highest income taxes as they are the highest income earners,

which is true, without mentioning how much of what they make, and often all of what they make,
