News and notes from over the weekend. A big news came here on Sunday night, if you're paying attention, not really related to the Browns, but a former Brown, right? Odo Buckham Jr. signs with Baltimore.

Not totally surprised because there was some noise that these two were meeting together at

the owner's meetings, some different things were taking place. The contract looks like it could get

up to 18 million, set to make 15 million and as much as 18 is what Tom Pelliserro notes here.

13.835 million signing bonus, 1.165 million base salary, and then 3 million in reachable incentives.

I cannot imagine anybody else was giving O'Dell Beckham that kind of contract offer.

So when somebody points out from NFL Network that there's no way he would sign this,

or not no way, but heavily persuaded by Lamar Jackson, which he did, O'Dell posted that he was

FaceTiming with Lamar Jackson. I he did, you know, O'Dell posted that he was, uh,

FaceTiming with Lamar Jackson. I just don't know that those two are tied together, the,

the fact that Lamar will be back. I don't know. It feels to me like the Ravens making a play here,

because any wide receiver help would start to push their relationship with Lamar Jackson in

some sort of right direction, but it also feels to me like a massive overpay for a guy that I don't think can quite do it at the level. He used to do it. It's a lot more money than some of the better wide receivers on the market even earned, right? Like DJ Shark, Adam Thielen, some of those others significantly more money on this single year basis. I just like I said, I cannot imagine anyone else is even toying around with this kind of money for Beckham this late in the process. So to me, it seems like it's just Odell was as close to the $20 million number he was talking about earlier in the off season. And he took it. Doesn't really matter to him who's ultimately throwing him the football. He's got a ring. He's got all those accolades he could want. He just wants money. And which, you know, I understand, guy getting into his 30s here. You just want money from the game. And this is an opportunity to make good money. I don't think I'm going to take anything crazy about Lamar Jackson's comfortable, happy return to the Ravens from what was discussed there.
