What's up everybody? Welcome in to Brown's Film Breakdown. Jake Burns. I haven't been with you in a while as I've been dealing with some pretty tough stuff. We put my father to rest Saturday of last week. It's not totally unexpected. He had dealt with a heart attack in 2015, and from that heart attack, a bunch of things happened to him.

It's sort of a chain reaction. His kidneys shut down, and that put him on dialysis for several years.

And, you know, a compound layering of things that happened him on dialysis for several years.

And, you know, a compound layering of things that happened when on dialysis and the weakened immune system, things that happened.

He had some trouble with one of his feet that they had to ultimately take and, you know, dealt with a bunch of those issues that came with that.

He did, luckily, find a chance to loosen away and get a surgery to get a kidney repair situation happen.

I should not call that a repair.

That's a transplant.

And not to get too deep into the details.

Listen, it was a really hard 10 years for him.

In the last eight months, came down with a cancer diagnosis a really challenging cancer to fight and went through the first bout of chemo chose to fight it

went through the first bout of chemo and his body just couldn't, couldn't handle anymore.

So, you know, like I said, it wasn't, as I kind of used this pod as a bit of a therapeutic

podcast to talk through some things with you guys. I don't mean to go too deep into details,

but I did want to outline what he fought through and what he kept moving forward with.

And, you know, a lot of people, if you've had any experience with dialysis or folks who deal

with kidney failure, it's a hard life, man. Three days a week, you're in a chair for four hours,

getting fluids brought in and out of your body that help obviously skip the process of the kidney

and it's a hard life to live and he did that for a while he dealt with losing limbs on his body

and ultimately decided he wanted to fight cancer with with a chemotherapy option but like we said

the heart just decided it couldn't go forward

on Saturday. And that was hard. You know, he got to watch Ohio State, which is the team he loves,
