Welcome back to the Dirt Show. That big smile on my face is having just come back from

our daughter's wedding. It was a wonderful, wonderful event with a hundred of her closest

to friends. Not very many adults, just the father of the bride, the mother of the bride,

the father of the groom. The groom of my wife got me a shirt that had a Godfather image

across it, and it said, Bride's father. I wore that to the breakfast. I'm going to start

with a letter. And the letter says, I had said that I was singing a song at the wedding,

and I did sang a song. It's an old Yiddish song that it's sung by the father of the bride

when the bride is the youngest daughter. And it's called the Maginka Iska Given. It's

the Yiddish song, which means finally our youngest daughter is getting married and I sang

it. And so the letter says, Alan, you need to video your version of the Maginka Iska

Given Song and play it on your podcast from an ardent conservative Christian. I wish

your family the best. You're a good man and exceptional and a great American. Well,

when I get an invitation to sing, I accept it. So here, I'm going to do one verse of it

the way I sang it yesterday.

Her carabassar, durad, machin, gressa, grueis, hat, gat, unge, mach, glirik, hat, minge,

brach, hulin, kinda, kansen, nacht, maginka, Iska Given, de maginka, Iska Given. That's

what I sang. Everybody said, keep your day job. You're never going to be a Khazan. You'll

never be a cantor. But I did it with love in my heart, even missing a few notes. But

and my Yiddish wasn't so bad. I got an email from a chisidigrabi complimenting me on

on my Yiddish. So it was a very, very happy couple of days up in the Catskill mountains

and now I'm back to the real world. My daughter and her wonderful husband are off in their

honeymoon. And here we are back in the real world, the real world. So what I want to talk
