| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to the Dirt Show. The subject for today's show is why all of Donald Trump's |
| 0:08.7 | trials, the one in the state court and the one in the federal courts, must be televised. |
| 0:13.9 | But before we get to that, there are two items of breaking news. One, obviously political |
| 0:18.7 | and relevant to this, the Justice Department has announced that Hunter Biden will probably |
| 0:22.5 | be indicted on gun charges. Remember that he made a deal whereby he wouldn't be indicted. |
| 0:29.9 | And on gun charges, he'd be put into a diversionary program, but the deal collapsed. |
| 0:34.4 | That doesn't mean you still can't have a deal. Probably there'll be a deal. But right now, |
| 0:38.4 | it looks like the Justice Department is upping the ante and getting ready to indict him, |
| 0:43.8 | whether it be for a misdemeanor, we don't know. And the other thing, which is closer to home for me, |
| 0:50.6 | is that it was announced today, this is really breaking news, that they did a ranking of all |
| 0:55.9 | the major colleges in the United States. In terms of freedom of speech, how much freedom of speech |
| 1:02.4 | there is on the campus, how little freedom of speech. And guess which school ranked dead last, |
| 1:09.2 | not only last, but got a score below zero. And that's the school I taught at for 50 years, |
| 1:18.9 | Harvard University. They got the lowest score in the country, below zero. They didn't have the |
| 1:24.7 | capacity to grade it below zero, but the actual run numbers are below zero. And |
| 1:32.2 | many of us on the faculty saw that and we started a group now for free speech and academic freedom |
| 1:39.6 | on campus. Imagine Harvard needing a group of faculty defending free speech and academic freedom |
| 1:45.5 | on campus, but we desperately need it because the administration is not helping and the student |
| 1:52.2 | body with exceptions are not helping and the faculty is not helping. So we now have this group |
| 1:59.8 | that's going to be defending Harvard. Hope it'll raise the score next year, maybe by next year |
| 2:04.1 | we'll be only second or third to last. The other schools that are very much in the low ranking are |
| 2:09.1 | Columbia, Penn. Some of the good schools and the engineering schools tend to have the most |
