It's so funny, somebody posted on my

YouTube channel after I posted a video with me and Stephen A. having a conversation, Stephen A. Smith,

who is Karen Hunter? And I didn't take offense to that. But what he was saying was how dare you

or who are you to talk about Stephen A. Smith or, you know,

why are you able, why are you having this conversation with Stephen A. Smith? Who are you?

Well, I'm going to tell you who I am in this conversation with Stephen A. Smith, because many of you

know that we know each other. Many of you know that I used to work in sports at the New York Daily News. That's where I

started my career actually at the Star-Ledger and then at the New York Daily News as a sports writer.

And guess who sat in my seat after I left sports to cover business? In my literal seat, Stephen A. Smith.

So we have not just history, but there was a deep abiding friendship that over the

years with all of the commentary around politics has put us at a crossroads. So I owed it to myself

to have a conversation with him, which is what was the impetus for us to even sit down.

But I also thought people should know

the origin story. So up next is Stephen A. and I having a conversation about how we met.

Do you remember the first time you saw me? Of course I do. I was in the New York Daily News. It was

1993. The daily news. Was it 93?

It was 93.

It was absolutely 1993.

And this is exactly how it happened.
