Summary

Almost, four years ago, President Trump's political career looked dead in the water. Now he is the first President since Grover Cleveland to return to the White House after losing his reelection bid.  Ben pontificates on how President Trump pulled it off, and how despite some of the nervousness among Republicans during the last week of the campaign after comedian Tony Hinchcliffes's Puerto Rico joke and Ann Selzer's Iowa poll, the fundamentals of this election were always in favor of 45, now 47. I'm Ben Dominic.

Well, this long, crazy 2024 election cycle has finally come to a close, and it came to a close with a bang.

0:22.6

Longtime listeners have obviously heard me saying over the course of the past several months that I believed that Donald Trump

0:26.8

was the likelier winner of this election. But certainly there were questions here in the closing

0:32.7

month about whether he had perhaps damaged himself with some of his choices or taken his eye off the ball.

0:40.2

And, of course, whether Kamala Harris was going to be able to use that billion dollars spent to boost her appeal in order to make up ground,

On the other side, Democrats completely botched

1:46.6

their approach here. Kamala Harris did not outperform Joe Biden anywhere in the country. She did not

1:53.0

lead him in any way across any district or precinct at the current measure. That's an incredible

1:59.3

thing to consider. It's amazing that someone who has been

2:04.3

propped up as significantly as she has over the course of the past several months hailed as being

2:11.1

a natural generational talent as someone who was engaged in an act of joy with her run that was exciting Democrats across the country,

2:21.7

to have turned out to be someone who was so disappointing, so bad at running for president,

2:28.3

that she would lag behind Joe Biden in every circumstance, everywhere, in every demographic, and be incapable of making the case
