| 0:00.0 | Hey, welcome back to the Personality Hacker Podcast. My name is Joel Mark Witt. |
| 0:07.6 | And I'm Antonia Dodge. So this week, at the time of this recording, I'm very excited because in my extroverted thinking, 10-year-old |
| 0:15.5 | or tertiary process is excited because for the first time in almost a decade of doing |
| 0:20.4 | personality hacker, we finally set up a whiteboard, a scrumb board here in our studio |
| 0:26.8 | slash offices. And I'm super excited because I don't know if you know what a scumb board is, |
| 0:30.8 | if you're listening, But basically it's a project |
| 0:34.8 | management task management system and we have a very very simple version of it. |
| 0:38.8 | But I'm so excited because finally we're getting ourselves organized to where we can have three columns on a whiteboard, the to-do column, the doing column and the done column. |
| 0:48.0 | And this might sound like, are you kidding me, Joel? Are you really excited about this? |
| 0:52.0 | And I genuinely am because it's been a struggle for us as perceivers to do work here in our business. |
| 0:59.4 | It's hard to get on a rhythm, it's hard to get a schedule, it's hard to get traction on things we tend to |
| 1:04.6 | work in sprints we tend to create a project or an opportunity and then we just |
| 1:09.4 | work 12 14 hour days for three to six weeks killing ourselves and then we just like |
| 1:14.0 | collapse and then we don't do anything for like four weeks and then we do it again |
| 1:17.8 | another project. Or to be fair a fire. We like create a fire. We create our own emergencies to have to get us into action. It's really crazy. |
| 1:27.0 | And because having a fire is so effective for us, it's hard for us to do the smart thing, which is stop relying |
| 1:35.9 | on fires that we create, which is anxiety producing and causes so much stress, and |
| 1:42.0 | maybe get ahead of the game and you know do things like hang up |
| 1:45.6 | scrum board so we can look at a list of our to do items and track whether or not |
| 1:49.4 | they're complete and done and there are so many times where we've we've sat down at meetings and had all these |
| 1:54.1 | projects listed out and like okay we're absolutely gonna do this this is what we're |
| 1:58.3 | going to be doing and maybe we'll have that meeting I don't know let's say it's on a Thursday and then Friday we'll have that meeting, I don't know, let's say it's on a Thursday, and then Friday we end up being caught up in other stuff. |
