It is stressful at times being a mom or a dad because you've got to manage your own

schedule and events and the kids and as they get older it seems like they get

busier and busier.

It's especially difficult if you have some health challenges

and that's what we're gonna talk about today.

I'm John Fuller along with Danny Huerta

and we're gonna hear now from Aaron Linum. She is a speaker and

author and she's had Addison's disease since she was a teen and I asked her

about this in a conversation with Jim Daly and me,

and she gave us a little more detail about balancing stress

and physical well-being with marriage and motherhood.

I'm not familiar with Addison,

so what is the practical effect of that on you? I mean if your

adrenal glands aren't working what does that mean? Well your adrenal glands produce very

important hormones the most important being cortisol and that's what deals with stress in your body

whether it's emotional or physical and so if I undergo sudden stress like a car

accident or sudden emotional stress I can have what's called an

adrenal crisis where my body wants to take care of that but it can't so I would

end up comatose and eventually pass away and so I would need to receive an

injection kind of like an epipen of my medication very quickly.
