And every other week I talk with an interesting and informed party

that can shed light on some issue of public interest.

It's my pleasure to introduce Sylvia Bennett Stone,

who is the executive director of the Voices of Black Mothers United,

initiative at the Woodson Center in Washington, D.C.

I'll let her tell you more about the work.

These are mothers who have lost children to urban violence

and who are trying to stand in the gap and be supportive of others

who have had a similar loss and addressed themselves to public issues.

But I don't want to speak for Sylvia.

I'm really grateful that you've been able to spare some time

to talk to me here at the Glenn Show.
