So a little less than a year ago, maybe a year ago, I think that's, I don't remember how to

me.

On Brandy set.

Oh, on the set of Brandy.

That's right.

So listen, so this story is kind of interesting.

So we're shooting all the smoke in Atlanta for all-star last year and when we

were done shooting it was kind of like at this what was that place called just a studio

yeah had just a bunch of different sets and everything so i'm kind of trying to sneak out they're

like they're shooting a movie in the front i was like well i need to get out the front so i

try to quietly sneak out and all of a sudden i hear someone called like my foot, Matt Barnes. I'm like, oh shit. Like, but these people are on a movie set and I turn around and it's Brandy, the singer. And I knew Brandy because she used to date one of my teammates back in the day when we played for the Clippers. So like she stopped shooting, comes up, says hello, I haven't seen her in years. And then Dr. Holly comes up.

And like right away, she's like, we talked to me and Braynor talking a little bit. She's like, have you acted? I'm just like, nah, not really. She's like, you need to act. He's like, and then we ended up exchanging numbers. Fast forward. We both live in L.A. and she was kind of persistent. I'm like, hey, you know, I have some stuff coming up.

I want to sit and talk to you about.

So she comes to my house one day and was like, hey, you know, I have some stuff coming up. I want to sit and talk to you about.

So she comes to my house one day and was like, hey, I got a movie and I want you to be in it. I was like, oh, I've done cameos. Like I've done, I was in Think Like a Man. I didn't have no lines. I did Ninja Turtles, which my kids love. I didn't really have no lines there. Like this was different when she was offering me and she's just like, hey, you know, and you can be like a co-lead.

So-and-so's in it.

I was like, okay, well, like we start next week. I'm like, holy shit. I've never even done this before. I was just like, and I was scared. Like I would interest me off the rip and I'm kind of all over the place because this was a really kind of pivotal time of my life, but just also a cool opportunity.

I lost my mom to canter in 2008, but we used to watch lifetime movies together. Like that was our thing. And you told me like, hey, I'm doing this movie on Lifetime. And that was the initial, even why I, because I've been offered stuff and I've just never really wanted to do it. But the lifetime thing, and it made me thinking my mom.

So long story short, she pitches the idea. I was scared. I was like, oh, this is too, like she gave me the script. Like, we're filming next week. I'm like, holy shit. I got basketball tournaments and kids, and I got to learn how to be an actor in a week. So I went back to it. I was just like, I appreciate it. but respectfully, I think this is too much for my first time. And she's like, no, well, let's, let's, we're gonna find something.

So. I went back to, I was just like, I appreciate it, but respectfully, I think this is too much for my first time.
