So yesterday, the House passed Senate Bill 1. It passed in the House 65 to 29.

All right. So one of the things has been a point of contention is this local income tax.

And nobody could give you a straight answer on what's going on with local income tax as a part of this bill because they kept the fiscal note,

which came out from the official government body said taxes are going up, right?

Thompson, Jeff Thompson, had a ways and means in his initial hearing on 1402 said there's

these other ways for governments to raise taxes.

I didn't say it like that, but that's what.

No, he said that they'll generate revenue.

Right.

And so then Braun comes out and goes, oh, no, the lit is the local income tax.

It's going down.

And we're like, wait a second.

There's no way, because the only thing that Braun got in this bill that he'd have before

is a little bit extra of a

of a tax credit. And there's no way Thompson just scrapped the rest of the bill. And Braun and his people

ain't smart enough to figure it out or negotiate it out. Braun got owned in this thing. Well,

he can't get owned if you don't really care to begin with. But point is, I said there's no way they're lowering income tax to local government while cutting property taxes.

But I couldn't figure out, nor could many other people, because I talked to numerous people, including some of these lawmakers, on how this little trick was going to work.

And I figured it out, Casey.
