But now something special, a rerun of my conversation

from a year ago with George Conway. You see, a year ago, I sat down with George for a conversation

that at the time some people still wanted to label alarmist. They'd say, too dark, too pessimistic,

too, you're overreacting, Michael. You guys know the drill, because in America, apparently, the real problem isn't a fire. It's the guy pointing at the smoke.

You know, we talked about authoritarian creep, about a movement that no longer pretended to care about democracy, norms,

or the rule of law. We talked about a man who mistakes loyalty to the Constitution for betrayal

of him. And we talked about how institutions, you know, the courts, Congress, media, even the voters

themselves were being stress tested by

people who knew exactly where the weak points were. And fast forward 12 months, and here we are,

not speculating anymore, not warning, living it. Much of what George and I discussed has come

to fruition with an almost cruel precision.
