My son and I were in a pet store recently, and we were watching mice running on their little wheel.

It's comical, but it's almost pitiful at the same time. I must tell you,

as a runner, I enjoy running outside, but I really don't love running on a treadmill because I feel like I'm exerting so much energy, but I'm not getting anywhere. It gets very boring at times.

Some of you in life right now, pursuing the will will of God feel like you're walking in circles,

but you're not getting anywhere. Well, I want to tell you on the authority of the Word of God from this

beautiful story in Joshua chapter 6 that though you may feel like you're walking around in circles

around Jericho, you're walking with God. And when you walk with God, the walk takes on new meanings.

You may be walking in circles, but you are getting somewhere.

God's work and God's walk is never purposeless.

You see, the journey becomes an adventure when you realize that every step is taken with him.

He's bringing you to himself.

We've been walking around Jericho with the children of Israel,

and we've learned the lesson of sight and the lesson of strength,

and the lesson of silence, and the lesson of stillness, and the lesson of steps.

And now we come to the lesson we wanted to get to, the lesson of the shout.

When you come to the end of the story, the Bible says in verse 16, it came to pass at the

seventh time.
