Thank you so much for joining me today for the latest episode of the Runners Connect

0:22.0

run to the top podcast. Last week I talked to

0:25.4

Olympian Carrie Tollefson and she shared her story with us about how her world

crumbling down led to the greatest opportunity and how she was able to

0:34.7

embrace it. Well today we have another elite runner on the show but with a completely

0:39.3

different story yet he keeps mentioning the same thing, embrace it and I think there's going to be a lot of

0:45.3

lessons that we all can learn from this episode. Chicago Marathon is just days away if you

are downloading this on Wednesday and it makes me think back to my

experience last year although it was not a good race for me it's impossible not

to get sucked in by the excitement of it. We are truly into marathon season and there is

and stop feeling sorry for for yourself I know I've been

1:15.1

doing that a little bit recently this is just what you need my guest today is so

1:20.3

brave so strong and so honest with his thoughts that I don't think anyone will be able to walk away from this

1:26.5

interview without feeling determined. This is truly a story about coming from nothing and making it into something. My guest did not have the kind of upbringing

1:35.3

most professional owners do, but it made him even more determined to fight. He talks about how

1:40.8

fear is all around us and how it can become consuming. Do you ever feel like that? I know I do. But when you stand on that start line, you need to puff up your chest, rise to the challenge and fight. But there's a difference. Fight for you and you only not for anyone else not for your sponsors but just for you for your pride.
