Welcome to another episode of the Learn Jazz Standards podcast and another Fast Track Friday episode to end the week off here. Fast Track Friday is where I look back on this week's questions, this week's episodes, and see if there's any sort of common themes or ideas that I want to,

And earlier this week, we talked about this, how do I not think when I improvise, right?

The idea being there that when we are thinking too much when we improvise, right, at that point,

it's almost impossible to create organically, right?

We're thinking so much that we're forcing ideas, we're playing regurgitated things,

perhaps we're even making more mistakes than we would have otherwise,

simply because we're thinking too much. And I talked a lot about in that episode of, you know,

ways we can get there, ways we can get to the point where we're not thinking so much when we

improvise. And the idea that preparation is so important to that, right? But of course, I mentioned

that none of this is easier, it's easier said than done, right? None of this is easy to do to get

into that zone of not thinking. And what I call this, by the way, when you're really not thinking

and you're just playing and your subconscious has kicked in completely
