We just spent an hour with Nick Raphael. He's the president of London Records and what struck me the most was when he talked about signing Jay-Z in the mid-90s when no one else wanted to.

I thought it was a confirmation of something we've been seeing with a bunch of our guests,

which is that being inspired by work and feeling joyous and your work is pretty much the most surefire key to success.
