So today I'm going to be talking with the producer and songwriter Tom Hull,

he's better known as Kid Harpoon.

He was a recording artist in his own right and then he started to do high profile work with people like Florence and the machine, Calvin Harris and Skrilliks.

He's gone on to form a particularly close creative partnership with Harry Stiles.

He's been working with Harry since his first solo album.

And he co-wrote and co-produced every song on Harry's great new album,

Harry's House.

I've from working with another songwriter and producer Tyler Johnson.

Tom also co-wrote and co-produced every track on Maggie Roger

New Out Surrender.

And his year also included a track with Lizzo and a track with Florence and the Machine.

So basically he's had a hell of a year and there's a ton to talk about.

We go into great detail on the Making of Harry's House and his other work with Harry's

styles and we also talk about all his other work this year and beyond. Here's me and Kid Harpoon.

There's a lot I wanted to talk about but I wanted to start I think with a song that should in a just world earn you a producer of the year nomination on its own in addition to all the other stuff

you've done this year which is as it was an absolute blockbuster hit for Harry Stiles.

People don't quite realize how amazing it is that a song that sounds like that is a number

one hit for weeks and weeks in America in the year 2022.

It's just such a departure from the sound of the current charts.

Did you expect that to be the smash it was?

I'd love to say I did because it would make me sound really good, but I honestly had no idea.
