Hello and welcome to not another one, the podcast with me, Steve Richards, Ian Martin, Miranda Green and Tim Montgomery.

0:19.2

We started during the election, but through popular demand,

0:23.8

we are carrying on and on and on, to quote Margaret Thatcher. So we're going to be in for years.

0:29.7

And thank you very much for tuning in again. Thanks to our brilliant sponsors, Get Living,

0:35.0

which has made all of this possible. And this is what we're going to do in

0:38.6

our time together today, as we reflect on this first four week of a Labour government, first four

0:44.5

week of a Tory party in opposition, etc. Our quick takes of the week, then we're going to look to

0:51.3

1:39.0

I think it's fair to say that the Starma government really has hit the ground running. And of course,

1:43.0

the fact that there's a NATO summit immediately, you know, helps the optics, as they say, in political comms, because there he is with other world leaders almost immediately. And I think a lot of the government appointments have been really interesting to manage to appoint people who have expertise in their area seems refreshing. Let me just

2:04.0

put it politely like that after so many years of a party in power that was really scraping the

2:09.2

barrel towards the end. I'd flag up one, for example, Sarah Sackman, the newly elected MP for Finchly.

2:15.3

She is Solicitor General, a big job, and she actually

2:18.7

has expertise in planning law. So if one of the main things they're going to do, for example,

2:23.4

is look at the planning system, fend off protests to development, all the rest of it,
