0:12.0	Right now we're going through the first book of the Bible, Genesis.
0:15.0	Do you ever stop to think about how many assumptions you make?
0:18.0	Like what people drive, how many kids they have, where they live, what church they attend,
0:22.0	what sign they have in their yard, who
0:24.6	they go out to dinner with, we take in and take an information and make assumptions.
0:30.5	The problem is we don't really know these people we make assumptions about.
0:34.2	We may know everything about them, but we don't really even know them.
0:37.8	But we think we do.
0:39.6	Today's story is a spicy one.
0:41.6	It has everything in it that we really don't want to talk
0:44.1	about on our way to work or school. Or maybe you do depending on how long your
0:47.9	drive is. The story itself in Genesis 38 kind of seems like an interruption of the narrative we've been in.
0:55.0	It falls smack dab in the middle of what's happening with Joseph.
0:58.8	But God doesn't do things unintentionally.
1:00.6	So this story is right here between Joseph being sold into slavery and making a name for herself in Egypt for a reason
1:09.0	Genesis 38 takes the focus away from Joseph and spotlights a different brother named Judah.
1:15.2	Let's do a quick recap. The covenant promise was given to Abraham and passed down to
1:20.2	Isaac and then Jacob. Jacob had 12 sons.
