Welcome to 10 minute Bible Talks, where we connect the Bible to your life in the time it takes to get to work.

0:11.0

I'm Keith Simon. Right now we're going through the first book of the Bible, Genesis.

0:16.5

Let me share it with you two things that don't seem to fit together, and yet somehow I find them

0:20.9

both active in my life. The first thing I see in my life is cynicism.

1:07.5

How do we work together if we don't trust each other?

1:10.9

Synicism is dangerous both to an individual person but also to a whole society.

1:15.0

So I'm cynical, but I don't want to be cynical.

1:18.0

But that leads me to the second thing I find in my life and that is that I'm shocked that more people aren't cynical.

1:24.3

Synicism seems like the natural response to the broken world we live in.

1:28.7

It seems to me that we see the same problems over and over and over, the same sinful patterns over and over and

1:36.4

over and over, and yet everyone always acts surprised.
