| 1:06.1 | expected the breastfeed. I intended the breastfeed. I began a breastfeeding class. Looking back, |
| 1:10.8 | I'm not sure I even really wanted to breastfeed. So much as I felt like that was the obvious |
| 1:16.6 | choice because that's what quote unquote good parents did. Yeah. And the experience that I had |
| 1:22.6 | from the start was very difficult. She was early. I had gestational diabetes and my milk was delayed |
| 1:30.0 | and she lost 12% body weight by day three. And it just was not working for us. So I switched from |
| 1:36.8 | trying to nurse to exclusively pumping, which was even worse for my mental health. And it became |
| 1:43.2 | obvious really quickly that this was just not going to work for our family. It's not going to work |
| 1:50.0 | to try to provide breast milk for this little girl, both for her health and her weight gain, |
| 1:54.1 | but also for my mental health, which really devolved quickly into pretty severe postpartum depression. |
