Morning. It's Sunday, February the 8th. This weekend marks one month since the killing of Renee Good.

Her partner released a statement through her attorney, quote, Renee was not the first person killed, and she was not the last.

You know my wife's name and you know Alex Preti's name, but there are

many others in this city being harmed that you don't know. Their families are hurting just like mine,

even if they don't look like mine. In his decade in politics, Donald Trump has faced some of the

largest protests American presidents have ever seen. In fact, of the five largest single-day protests

in U.S. history, three have been in reaction

to Donald Trump or his policies, the 2017 Women's March, the day after he was first inaugurated,

and both No King's demonstrations, which took place last year. Only the first Earth Day, which drew

20 million people in 1970, was larger than October's No King's protests.

The next No King's rally, write this down. It's going to be important. It's scheduled for March 28th,

and it's aiming for 9 million attendees, which would place it second on that list if the goal is

achieved to attend that, by the way, you'll have to miss this show,

but I'm totally okay with that. Arresting Donald Trump's authoritarian rise is going to rely, though, on more than just record-breaking single-day protests, impressive though those things are.

What's needed to meet the moment, when Congress and the courts are failing to check Donald

Trump's power and the next election is still nine months away

is sustained defiance and resistance. Local groups, though they may be small, who will not give up,

individual people who show up consistently to stand against the seizing of our values and our institutions.

We've seen that before in this country, before major changes have occurred, and we've seen that happen again across the country now in the last year.

Each new city descended upon by unmarked vans carrying masked agents grows a new community of resistors who are dedicated to activism and solidarity.

The people of Minneapolis didn't ask for this confrontation with the federal government, but they rose to the occasion. Hundreds of businesses closed for a day-long economic blackout. Students

walked out of school and demonstrated at the state capital. Some local restaurants have transformed
