For instance, this very moment, me talking to you right now,

behind a microphone hosting a podcast.

I never in a million years thought that this type of public speaking was going to be a major part of my career.

I assumed I was going to do it in the classroom, but when my mentor told me that a lot of his time was spent giving talks to

organizations and getting paid well to do so I was surprised and I realize

that could be an option for me too.

Now speaking engagements are a big part of how I spend my days.

And the beauty of it is sharing my work

with audiences I would have never had access to, like filming a

documentary about stress for National Geographic in Australia, talk about going

way beyond the walls of my classroom.

And I often wonder what my path would have looked like

if my mentor hadn't shared his journey with me.
